Windbreak and sand fixation (WS) ecosystem services (ESs) were selected to evaluate ecological risks in the wind-sandy area of Yulin, Northern Shaanxi. The RWEQ wind erosion equation model was adopted to quantify the supply and demand quantities of WS ESs in the study area for 2007, 2015 and 2023. The ES supply-demand ratio (ESDR) was calculated to identify the supply-demand balance status of WS ESs across the study area. Additionally, variations in the supply-demand balance degree were combined to evaluate supply-demand risks of WS ESs, and whether WS risks exerted influence on water provision (WP) services and soil conservation (SC) services was explored. The research showed that the total supplies of WS services in the study area for the three years were 1.540×107, 1.898×107, and 2.193×107 t, respectively, while the total demand volumes were 2.046×107, 2.165×107, and 2.300×107 t, all of which presented the trend of gradually increasing. Spatially, the per-unit-area supply and demand of WS services were the highest in Yuyang District and the lowest in Fugu County in each of the three years. The area proportions of regions with ESDR less than 0 were 65.22%, 83.55%, and 63.36% for the three years. A large share of the study area was characterized by an insufficient supply relative to demand, and most parts of the study area were classified as service “deficit” zones. From 2007 to 2023, the overall WS supply-demand risk presented a declining trend, but high-risk zones still accounted for as high as 59.95% in 2023, which were mainly distributed in the northwest of the study area. As the supply-demand risk of WS services was reduced, WP and SC services were strengthened progressively. The WS ESs in the study area were maintained at a high-risk level, and different WS supply-demand risks exerted distinct influences on ESs.
