To leverage Miscanthus species for rehabilitating heavy metal-contaminated marginal lands, a multi-level screening was conducted on excellent germplasm of Miscanthus plants. The study successfully constructed a multidimensional Miscanthus germplsam evaluation system based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Grey Relational Analysis. The system integrated 10 core indicators, including spanning agronomic traits, physiological responses, and heavy metal accumulation characteristics(with a consistency ratio (CR<0.1), and can efficiently screen for “tolerant enriched” and “tolerate non enriched” germplasm types. Taking Miscanthus lutarioriparia as a model species, the system comprehensively evaluated nine wild germplasm accessions collected from cadmium-contaminated areas. Tthe mean truncated tolerance association index of Miscanthus lutarioriparius to non enriched types(0.576) was significantly higher than to tolerant enriched types(0.493), but there were concentration dependent differents in the performance of different germplasm. The gerplasm from the collection sites of Longchuan and Miluo showed significant advantages in low cadmium treatment, while the germplasm from YueLiang and NanZhou showed outatanding performance in medium cadmium treatment. The germplasm from JunShan demonstrated optimal tolerance in high cadmium stress. This study provides a scientific evaluation tool and excellent germplasm material for the application of Miscanthus for cadmium phytoremediation.
