Spatiotemporal evolution of productive-living-ecological space at county level of Qinling-Daba Mountains area under background of urban-rural integration
Objective The spatiotemporal evolution of productive-living-ecological space (PLES) and the influencing factors of its land use composition in the Qinling-Daba Mountains area are investigated in order to provide a reference for resolving conflicts between ecological conservation and economic development and promoting county-level urban-rural integration and sustainable development. Methods Taking the Qinling-Daba Mountains area as a case study, the spatiotemporal evolution of PLES was quantitatively analyzed by integrating spatial analysis with a land use transition matrix. An evaluation indicator system for PLES land use composition was established, and the optimal parameters-based geodetector model was employed to identify the dominant drivers of PLES patterns and to analyze their interaction mechanisms. Results ① The PLES pattern in the Qinling-Daba Mountains area showed a trend of expanding ecological space, shrinking production space, and rapidly growing living space. ② Land use in the Qinling-Daba Mountains area exhibited a spatiotemporal pattern of overall structural stability with intense internal transformation, particularly significant after 2010. ③ The comprehensive PLES index was higher in the western and southern regions and lower in the eastern and northern regions. ④ Population density was a universal dominant factor, while government fiscal expenditure served as a key regulatory variable, regulating production and ecological space through infrastructure investment and ecological conservation and restoration initiatives. Forest coverage formed the foundation of ecological space, and there is a significant correlation between residential land expansion and environmental pollution. Conclusion In ecological conservation zones, strict enforcement of ecological redlines is essential to consolidate the achievements of the Grain for Green Program. In urban development zones, the scale of construction land should be controlled and spatial layouts optimized. Targeted fiscal investment guidance is crucial for optimizing the land use structure. Future efforts should strengthen planning guidance and policy safeguards.
