Industrial dyes and antibiotics cause severe water pollution. Traditional treatment methods have problems such as high cost, low efficiency and secondary pollution. In this study, MOFs-chitosan hybrid separation membranes composed of a substrate, ZIF-8 nanoparticles and chitosan were prepared. A polyethersulfone (PSF) porous support layer was constructed by phase inversion method, and ZIF-8 was uniformly embedded in the polyamide layer through interfacial polymerization reaction. And then, chitosan was introduced to enhance surface hydrophilicity and structural stability. The experimental results demonstrated that ZIF-8 had good dispersity and formed hydrogen bonds and coordination interactions with chitosan. This hybrid membrane can effectively separate Congo red, methylene blue and tetracycline with rejection of 98.60%, 88.10% and 72.12%, respectively, and remained stable during 50 h operation. The synergistic interaction between ZIF-8 and chitosan could significantly improve the selectivity and anti-fouling performance of the hybrid membrane.
