Anaerobic fermentation of cattle manure is a key route for pollution control and resource-energy utilization processing in the livestock sector. To clarify the techno-economics of cattle manure concentration and anaerobic treatments under different breeding technology, in this study, four total-solid(TS) concentrations of 2%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% and four fermentation temperature of 25 ℃, 30 ℃, 38 ℃, and 45 ℃ were set, anaerobic fermentation tests with different total-solid(TS) concentrations and fermentation temperature were conducted, fermentation parameters were optimized combined with the modified Gompertz model and two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the cumulative biogas production of 7.5% and 10% of TS concentrations at 45 ℃ was significantly increased. Biogas yield of 7.5% of TS concentration at 45 ℃ was higher by 24.13% than that at 38 ℃. Owing to substrate competition inhibition at 2% of TS concentration, the fermentation temperature showed no significant effect on biogas production efficiency. The modified Gompertz model indicated that time to 90% of ultimate production(T90) at 45 ℃ was 5-19 day shorter than that at 25 ℃, but it was extended to 16 day when TS≥10% because of mass-transfer resistance. In conclusion, medium or high temperature fermentation of 40-45 ℃ was recommend for high TS concentrations(7.5-10%) with hydraulic retention time of 14-16 day, combined with intensive mixing and digestate recycle. Operation of 35-38 ℃ was recommend for medium or low TS concentrations(2-5%) to optimize energy efficiency. Aiming at the technology differences between dry cleaning of manure(TS concentration>20%) and water flushing of manure (TS concentration<3%) in large-scale engineering, a suitable solution was proposed: for dry cleaning of manure, a technology of anaerobic fermentation first then separation of manure was adopted to accomplish the resource utilization of biogas residue, and for water flushing of manure, a pre-separation technology of manure was adopted to accomplish the digestion of biogas slurry in farmland.
