Salt damage is a critical factor affecting wheat yield. Identifying and evaluating salt tolerance of wheat germplasm resources during germination stage is essential for screening new varieties of salt tolerant wheat. In this study, 55 Hengmai wheat varieties(lines) were treated with 200 mmol/L of NaCl solution to simulate salt stress. 10 morphological indexes, including germination rate, germination potential, germination index, seed germination index, root length, and bud length, the correlation analysis, principal component analysis, membership function analysis, and cluster analysis were carried out to screen the salt tolerance of wheat germplasm resources. The results showed that the morphological indexes of wheat after salt stress were inhibited to varying degrees compared with the control, and there were differences in the correlation among the morphological indexes. The 10 morphological index values were divided into 3 comprehensive indexes by principal component analysis, and the cumulative contribution rate was 80.287%.The results of membership function analysis showed that Shiluan 02-1 and Hengmai L214286 had the strongest salt tolerance, and Hengmai Z215351 had the weakest salt tolerance. The 55 wheat varieties(lines) were categorized into five groups by cluster analysis using membership function values, among which were 14 with extremely strong salt tolerance, 22 with strong salt tolerance, 15 with general salt tolerance, 3 with salt sensitivity, and 1 with extreme salt sensitivity.
