With the network operation of high speed railway in China, the problem of mismatch between point and line capacity has become increasingly prominent. Especially, the throat area where multiple lines converge has become the main bottleneck limiting the carrying capacity of stations. At the same time, the dense arrival and departure of trains, the highly concentrated traffic flow, the frequent entry and exit of trains during peak hours, and the intensified interference of route intersections all bring great pressure to the throat of the station. Therefore, combined with available research, starting from the calculation of throat capacity, this paper expounded the dynamic and static influencing factors of throat capacity. Taking the route as the research object, the paper considered the station topology, adopted traction calculation, and put forward the graphic idea and steps of throat capacity based on turnout grouping. Finally, regarding the Zhengzhou-Xi'an yard of Xi'anbei Station as an example, the paper took the arrival-departure sequence of existing trains as the input flow. Through the graphical model, the optimal route allocation scheme was obtained as the output flow, and the results were analyzed quantitatively. The analysis shows that compared with the utilization method, the calculation result of the graphical method is more accurate, and it can reflect the turnout group and duration occupied by the arrival and departure routes.
