During the operation of railway trains, accidents occasionally occur when trains collide with obstacles. This is mainly because the track circuit cannot detect the obstacles whose physical characteristics prevent the track circuit from forming a loop, resulting in train operation signals linked to the track circuit not accurately reflecting whether the line is clear. Additionally, due to the limited sight distance, train drivers often struggle to detect these obstacles in time. This paper focused on the railway block detection and early warning system based on infrared imaging detection technology. Infrared detectors were installed on the fulcrum of the signal machine to form a video capture and distance measurement system, with interfaces for special on-site scenarios. The system detected the railway block section, identified and processed images through foreign object analysis, safety limits, motion control, and warning light functions. Information was transmitted in real-time through the control system to the dispatch command position, terminal alarm system, and on-site warning lights, assisting dispatch command personnel and train drivers in emergency treatment to prevent railway traffic accidents.
