Due to the requirements of green and low-carbon development in urban rail transit and the shift of the transport organization concept from high density to high flexibility, more and more urban rail transit lines have adopted the mixed marshalling mode in the planning and operation stages. Firstly, the passenger flow characteristics and key technologies applicable to the mixed marshalling mode were analyzed. Then a comprehensive evaluation model for train marshalling schemes was built based on operation evaluation, service evaluation, and economic evaluation. The key evaluation indexes were proposed, and the combination weighting method was adopted to compensate for the shortcomings of the subjective and objective weighting methods. The superiority evaluation method was applied to judge the train marshalling scheme. Finally, Nanning Metro Line 6 was used as an example to analyze better marshalling schemes under the forecast of the passenger flow section during the morning peak period, as well as the effect of passenger flow section sensitivity on train marshalling schemes. The results show that the proposed evaluation model has good applicability. When the passenger flow section is small, the single small marshalling scheme has the highest superiority, and with the increase in the passenger flow, the mixed marshalling scheme can effectively save construction and operation costs in the early stage. Thus, it provides a reference for urban rail transit planning and operation.
