Sea-rail intermodal transport is a prioritized area in China's transportation structure adjustment, with Ningbo Zhoushan Port taking the lead in its development. This study analyzed the characteristics and existing issues of sea-rail intermodal transport at Ningbo Zhoushan Port from the perspectives of freight volume, infrastructure, and operational management. Furthermore, it adopted an integrated method combining GIS network analysis and an improved logit model to identify the predominant advantageous hinterland of sea-rail intermodal transport, which primarily included the entire Zhejiang Province, southern Anhui Province, northern Jiangxi Province, northeastern Hubei Province, and southern He'nan Province. Under current subsidy conditions, the target proportion of containers' sea-rail intermodal transport in the advantageous hinterland was approximately 10.5%, with intra-provincial and inter-provincial proportions of 9.9% and 23.3%, respectively. Based on the analysis of facility point-line capacity, development strategies for sea-rail intermodal transport were proposed across the following dimensions: infrastructure construction, innovation-driven technological equipment, operational management optimization, and policy safeguards.
