Using the survey data from pig farmers in Jiangsu Province, this study empirically analyzes the effects and mechanisms of full-process green livestock farming technology adoption on livestock farmers’ welfare by employing endogenous switching regression model and counterfactual framework. The findings are as follows: full-process adoption significantly enhanced both subjective and objective welfare of livestock farmers. Under the counterfactual situation, where farmers who did not adopt full-process green livestock farming technology had adopted it, their average annual income would increase by 81.20%, and their self-assessed health score would increase by 16.32%. Secondly, the welfare enhancement from adopting single-stage technologies is relatively smaller compared to full-process adoption, indicating an "additive effect" of multi-stage adoption on welfare. The income mechanisms of full-process green livestock farming technology adoption include: At the pre-production stage, improved utilization of superior breeds reduces feed conversion ratio; at the production stage, reduced antibiotic usage increases the average selling price; at the post-production stage, the livestock manure recycling reduces environmental penalty costs. The health mechanism of full-process green livestock farming technology adoption is reflected through improvements in the living environment of livestock farms. This research not only improved the evaluation index for full-process green livestock farming technology, but also helped promote the adoption of green technology and enhance the well-being of livestock farmers.
