To address the challenge that surface loss mitigation in superconducting Transmon qubits becomes progressively saturated in conventional vertical trench geometries, making it difficult to further improve coherence, a wedge trench geometry is introduced into the Transmon qubits to further reduce the surface loss of qubits. Firstly, a parameterized model of the wedge trench Transmon is established, and key geometric parameters, including the sidewall opening angle and trench depth, are identified. Secondly, finite-element electromagnetic simulations are performed to evaluate the interface energy participation ratios under different parameter sets, from which the variation trend of the total surface loss is obtained. Finally, a comparative assessment is carried out under conditions where the vertical trench depth mitigation approaches saturation. The results indicate that the wedge trench geometry further suppresses the total surface loss and improve the surface loss-related quality factor by 25.4%, which provides a new structural design route for enhancing qubit coherence.
