The application of grout sleeve connected precast pier system in strong earthquake area is usually limited by its seismic performance. Based on pseudo-static test and OpenSees finite element model, the seismic performance of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) confined precast pier was studied. The pseudo-static test results show that CFRP can effectively reduce the damage of concrete in the plastic hinge area, delay the buckling and fracture of steel bars, improve the bearing capacity and deformation performance of precast pier, and reduce the residual displacement. It is proved that the fiber numerical model established has good simulation accuracy, and can be used to analyze the influence parameters of precast pier confined by CFRP. The simulation results show that the amount of CFRP and the ratio of longitudinal reinforcement of pier column can be moderately increased on the basis of the original specimen to meet the higher seismic fortification requirements.
