In dairy cattle production practices, limb and hoof health traits have always been important factors affecting dairy cattle's productivity and economic benefits. In order to grasp the occurrence of limb and hoof health traits in scaled dairy cow herds in Ningxia region and conduct genetic analysis of each limb and hoof health trait, we collected and sorted limb and hoof health data of 58,594 Holstein dairy cows from 13 scaled dairy cow herds in Ningxia region from 2015 to 2021 and used a logistic regression model to analyze the effects of parity, site, calving year, and calving season on dairy cow limb and hoof health traits. Using the DMU software's DMU AI module, we estimated the genetic parameters using the single trait repeated force animal model. We defined 1 categorical trait and 8 individual health traits, a total of 9 limb and hoof health traits, with an overall incidence rate of 7.18%. The highest incidence rate was for hoof disease (1.78%), followed by hoof hornitis (0.89%), and the lowest incidence rate was for thin hoof bottom (0.06%). The risk factor Logistic analysis found that parity, calving year, and calving season were the main risk factors affecting limb and hoof health traits in Ningxia region. Further analysis found that the heritability of limb and hoof health traits ranged from 1.50×10-3 (hoof sinus) to 3.38×10-2 (hoof hornitis and hoof sole crack), suggesting that hoof hornitis and hoof sole crack should be the target traits of focus in subsequent dairy cow population limb and hoof health trait research and selection.
