Studying the regional distribution structure of the national key cultural relics protection units in the Yangtze River National Cultural Park and analyzing the influencing factors of regional cultural production are of great significance for understanding the geographical characteristics of the Yangtze River culture and promoting the protection, inheritance and promotion of the Yangtze River culture. Taking 2006 national key cultural relics protection units in the Yangtze River National Cultural Park as the research object, this paper ultilized the kernel density analysis, nearest neighbor index, standard deviation ellipse and other tools of ArcGIS 10.8 software to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of national protection units in historical period, and further discussed its influencing factors from both natural and cultural aspects. The results are as follows. 1) A large number of state-protected units are distributed in the Wuyue area, reaching the peak of quantity in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, accounting for 43.47 % of the total. At the same time, the ancient building types are the main types of state-protected units, accounting for 42.67 % of the total. 2) Kegardless of time or type, the distribution of national insurance units shows different degrees of agglomeration characteristics. From the perspective of time series, from the prehistoric period to modern times, the agglomeration characteristics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties are the most obvious. Wuyue, Bashu, Jiangxi and Anhui are the main core distribution areas for a long time. From the type of ancient sites to other types, Bashu area, Wuyue and the junction of Wuyue and Jiangxi and Anhui are the areas where all types of national security units are highly distributed. 3) The center of gravity of the distribution of national insurance units in each historical period is located in Hubei and Hunan. The migration of the center of gravity presents the migration characteristics of “southwest-southwest-northeast-southwest-northeast-northeast-southwest-southeast”. The distribution range presents a trend of “shrinking-expanding-shrinking-expanding-...”. The degree of dispersion of distribution presents an alternating evolution trend from agglomeration to dispersion. 4) In terms of influencing factors, natural factors such as topography and rivers and human factors such as population and economy jointly affect the distribution and evolution of national security units in the historical period.
