紧凑型圆−矩波导模式转换拍波合成器设计
Design of a compact circular-to-rectangular waveguide mode conversion beat-wave synthesizer
提高高功率微波(HPM)系统的输出功率是HPM系统研究的核心和关键问题,功率合成技术是提高输出功率的同时突破单个高功率微波源性能提升的重要方法。据此研究设计了一种紧凑型X波段圆波导TM01-矩波导TE11模式转换拍波合成器,通过不同半径及长度的圆波导组合以及增加多路末端封闭的TM01-TE10分支结构等方法实现滤波功能,从而在实现模式转换的同时实现拍波合成功能。该合成器结构紧凑,加工难度低,合成效率约95%,功率容量达GW级,可同时实现模转和拍波合成,为小型化HPM系统集成提供了更多的可行性和便利性。
Enhancing the output power of high-power microwave (HPM) systems remains a central challenge in HPM research. Power synthesis technology serves as a critical method to increase the output power while breaking through the performance improvement of a single high-power microwave source. This paper presents a beat-wave synthesizer based on mode-conversion filters, configured as a dual-channel device. Each channel incorporates a circular-to-rectangular waveguide TM01-TE10 mode converter integrated with sidewall coupling structures and short-circuited waveguide sections to achieve simultaneous mode conversion and beat-wave synthesis. The prototype demonstrates 95% synthesis efficiency with gigawatt-level power handling capacity. Its compact configuration and low manufacturing complexity enable effective mode transition and wave synthesis, offering enhanced feasibility for miniaturized system integration.
