有机改性蒙脱土及其协同阻燃阻隔PP的研究
Study on Organic Modified Montmorillonite and Its Synergistic Flame Retardant Barrier PP
利用聚乙二醇400(PEG-400)、N-甲基-N,N-二羟乙基-n-十六烷基溴化铵(HBHAB)插层改性蒙脱土(MMT),制备有机改性蒙脱土(OMMT),将OMMT、微胶囊红磷(MRP)与聚丙烯(PP)经熔融挤出制备不同配方的PP复合材料,研究复合材料的阻燃性能、阻隔性能和力学性能。结果表明:OMMT与乙醇、苯、甲苯的相容性得到提高;HBHAB插入到MMT层间,使MMT层间距由1.517 nm扩大至2.424 nm。当PP、OMMT、MRP添加份数比为100∶9∶20时,PP/OMMT/MRP复合材料的极限氧指数为28.8%,阻燃达到UL-94 V-0级,无熔滴,无发烟;PP/OMMT/MRP复合材料的透湿系数、透氧系数与纯PP相比分别降低44.9%、34.0%;该复合材料的拉伸强度、弯曲强度、缺口冲击强度分别为28.87 MPa、36.54 MPa、6.39 kJ/cm2。
Polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG-400) and N-methyl-N,N-dihydroxyethyl-n-hexadecylammonium bromide (HBHAB) were used to intercalate and modify montmorillonite (MMT) to prepare organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT). OMMT, microencapsulated red phosphorus (MRP) and polypropylene (PP) were melt-compounded to fabricate PP composites with different formulations. The flame retardancy, barrier properties and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated. The results showed that the compatibility of OMMT with ethanol, benzene, and toluene was improved. The intercalation of HBHAB into the MMT layers increased the interlayer spacing of MMT from 1.517 nm to 2.424 nm. When the part ratio of PP, OMMT and MRP was 100∶9∶20, the limiting oxygen index of the PP/OMMT/MRP composite reached 28.8%, achieving UL-94 V-0 flame retardancy without dripping or smoke emission. Compared with pure PP, the water vapor transmission rate and oxygen transmission rate of the PP/OMMT/MRP composite were reduced by 44.9% and 34.0%, respectively. Moreover, the tensile strength, flexural strength, and notched impact strength of the PP/OMMT/MRP composite were 28.87 MPa, 36.54 MPa and 6.39 kJ/cm2, respectively.
